Dr Nick GoldingAlumnus

Nick is an Ecologist focusing on the spatial distribution of disease. Previously, he has studied the midge vectors of Bluetongue virus and the potential for UK mosquitoes to transmit West Nile virus. Throughout his work, Nick has developed methods for modelling species distributions. From 2013-2015 Nick was a Senior Computational Statistician with SEEG and developed the spatial component of a framework for integrated vector management. He worked on mapping regions where multiple diseases could be controlled together and mapping which interventions could be used to do this. His interests included developing and improving methods for mapping diseases.

Nick has developed a number of open source R packages for spatial ecology and disease mapping, which can be downloaded via his GitHub pages or the SEEG GitHub site.

In 2016 Nick moved to The University of Melbourne.
